A picture book about thunderstorms
It is summer and the days are long and warm and quiet. But today something is different. There’s something in the air. Svea noticed it right away and Karl the dog is also very excited. But what could it be? Exactly! There’s a thunderstorm coming!
On twelve double pages I tell and illustrate the story of Svea and her two sisters Berit and Lotte, who all experience the storm differently. Do you have to be afraid of thunderstorms? How far away is it? And what is the best way to behave? The picture book for four-year olds revolves mainly around the strange atmosphere that a thunderstorm creates. While Berit and Lotte already know exactly how they feel about lightning and thunder, Svea is still undecided. »Whaaaaaaat!?«, shouts Lotte as Papa wants to watch the storm from the balcony. »I’m not afraid«, Berit assures decisively. Little by little Svea discovers what is so particular about this natural phenomenon. She watches everything closely and is finally certain: »I like thunderstorms.«
